Frequently Asked Questions 

A few common questions about personal training, sessions and getting started. If your question isn’t covered, drop me a message and I’d be happy to help. 

Do I need experience in a gym?

No- not at all. Many clients are new to the gym or returning after time away. Sessions are tailored to your experience and explained clearly so you can build confidence at your own pace. 

Do I need to be fit before starting?

No. You don’t need to be “fit enough” to start, that’s what training is for. Sessions are adapted to your current level and progress as you do. 

I’ve never lifted weights before, is that ok?

Absolutely. Learning how to lift weights safely and confidently is a key part of what I offer. We start with the basics and build from there. 

What happens in my first session? 

Your first session focuses on getting to know you. We’ll chat about your goals, experience and any concerns, then start training in a way that feels comfortable and appropriate. 

How often should I train?

This depends on your goals, lifestyle and availability. Some clients train once a week, others more often. We’ll find what works best for you. 

Can I train with a friend?

Yes. I offer 2-to-1 (paired) personal training, which allows you to train with a friend or partner while still receiving personalised coaching. 

Do you offer group training?

Small group training is something I plan to introduce soon. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to register your interest. 

Where do sessions take place?

Personal training sessions take place at SHF Gym in Monkseaton, Whitley Bay. A well-equipped gym with free parking nearby.

Do I need a gym membership to train with you?

No. You don’t need a gym membership for your PT sessions with me. If you’d like to train outside of your sessions, day passes and memberships are available.

How much are PT sessions? 

Pricing varies depending on the training option and booking type. I offer individual sessions and block bookings. Get in touch and I’ll be happy to share details and answer any questions.
